FAQs
Where are you licensed?
This is a fully virtual practice, licensed in New York and New Jersey. If you’re located in another state (for example Massachusetts or Florida), I’m currently exploring those licensures — just reach out and we can discuss whether I’m able to work with you.
How do I know if my symptoms are stress or emotion‑related versus something medical?
I’m not an MD and cannot diagnose physical illnesses or treat underlying medical conditions, which is why it’s important to get checked out by a medical provider to rule out illnesses such as cancer or infection. If you’re experiencing pain, persistent symptoms, or anything that could have a serious underlying cause (cancer, neurological issues, autoimmune flareups, etc.), it’s crucial to rule those out with a medical doctor first. Once a medical provider has done their work and cleared the underlying disease process, we can explore whether emotional/physiological patterns may be contributing.
What happens in the free consultation?
I offer a free 20 minute consultation for both of us to see if we’d make a good fit. You’ll have space to ask questions about how I work, and we’ll discuss what brings you to therapy at this time.
Who is a good fit for my work?
I work one on one with adults who are seeking active, collaborative approach to therapy.
Whether that looks like relief from chronic or unexplained pain, or stepping out of people‑pleasing, resentment, or unsatisfying relationships. If you’re wanting to change long term patterns and look underneath what’s holding you back, then we’re a good fit.
Why can’t I just book a session online?
Because this work is intentional and relational, I prefer that we begin with a conversation (the consultation) so I can understand your situation, you can ask about the process, and we can determine if it makes sense to move into therapy. Once we’ve done that, we schedule our first session and start the work.
What is the session format? How long are sessions?
- Weekly 45‑minute psychotherapy sessions
- Sessions are fully virtual
- Sliding scale may be available, contact me to check current availability
What if I need to cancel a session?
To cancel without penalty, please notify me at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Cancellations made later than 24 hours or no‑shows will typically be charged the full session fee, unless we’ve discussed a different arrangement due to illness or emergency.
